


Chester County commissioners approved a $688 million 2022 budget that keeps taxes at 4.551 mills.County chief financial officer David Boscola anticipates adding money back into the reserve fund to maintain the county’s AAA bond rating. The budget includes an $18.4 million deficit that will be covered using money from the fund balance. About 75% of county spending is directed to public safety, housing, and human services departments and agencies. Bucks County commissioners voted unanimously to approve a $474 million spending plan for 2022 that maintains the current millage rate of 25.45 mills.Property tax rates are measured in millage, with one mill being worth $1 for every $1,000 of assessed property value. County taxes in Bucks, Chester and Delaware counties will remain even in 2022, but Montgomery County property owners will pay more.
